Frequently Asked Questions
For specific questions please reach out to your hiring manager or Christina Bleifuss (Internship Program Manager) [email protected] or 608-214-3243
Christina will be sending you an invite to join the SLACK ABS Internship team. This is a professional collaboration app that many businesses use, so it will be a good learning opportunity if you aren’t familiar. Through SLACK You will be able to send direct messages to people, see recent questions, share documents and get the most up-to-date information you might need. Please don’t be afraid to ask questions on this, most likely other interns are wondering the same thing and it will be nice to learn from each other.
We will try to keep all communications on this tool moving forward.
- Please make sure that you have completed your new hire paperwork. If you haven’t, reach out to Christina ASAP.
- On your first day, you are required to fill out an I-9. Below you will find a list of acceptable documents for this.
Your schedule is something you will discuss in detail with your hiring manager since it varies with roles. Most of you who are attending orientation will be trained on entering your hours and if not this will be something done by your hiring manager or HR Business Partner. A document to help with this is listed below and you will receive more information once you start.
Orientation will be located at our headquarters in DeForest (Madison, WI area) the week of June 8th. This will be packed days full of learning, connecting, growing and of course some FUN! If you are going to be flying/traveling Christina will be the one helping you with these logistics to make it as stress-free as possible for you.
More information on this will be located in the SLACK group once it approaches. If there are any concerns around orientation with schedules etc. please make sure to keep Christina updated.
What past interns have to say

"ABS Global is a company that truly invests in their interns. With a wide variety of internships available, ABS has a place for everyone regardless of their background. They gave us all the tools needed to not only to grow ourselves but the company as well. I’m excited to return in the upcoming summer and continue to develop my passion for bovine genetics with some of the most knowledgable individuals in the industry.”
Nathan Widiker
"My internship exceeded my expectations. I started this internship having little knowledge about the dairy industry and genetics. I also did not have a lot of knowledge of who ABS is as a company and where their morals are. I now feel very educated to make intellectual conversations with people in the industry and the workplace about how to improve the dairy industry genetically. "
